Lincoln County Airport

In addition to being an important element in the National Airspace Transportation System the Lincoln County Airport is the largest and fastest growing  general aviation and business airport in South Dakota.  Since Lincoln County acquired possession of the airport in the early 90’s; the number of based aircraft has risen to approximately 90 with many others waiting for the opportunity to move onto the airport. Many business aircraft of various types are based at the Lincoln County Airport and the airport is a “Mecca” for “kit built” aircraft with several flying or in various stages of construction.  It is also the home base for the Vanguard aerobatics squadron and EAA Chapter 289.

Conveniently located just south of Sioux Falls, South Dakota;  adjacent to Interstate Highway 29 the 3,650 foot runway leads to a modern full service FBO managed by Quest Aviation (605) 368-2841,   providing major aircraft repairs and aircraft fueling.  On the airport Great Planes Avionics (605) 498-1950, provides repair station and installation services to all manner of aircraft models.

The airport manager; a county employee/manager oversees all operations of the airport and is assisted by a five member Lincoln County Airport Advisory Board; appointed by the Lincoln County commissioners.  The Lincoln County Airport is truly the general aviation “Gateway” to southeastern South Dakota.
